Our Story & Mission
From a small neighborhood kitchen to a beloved dewey's pizza destination in the United States — discover the passion, people, and principles that drive everything we do.
Our Story
How deweys pizza Started
Dewey's pizza was born from a simple obsession: the perfect crust, the freshest ingredients, and the joy of gathering around a great meal.
In 2005, founder Marcus "Dewey" DeWitt opened a small walk-in shop on Cox Lane in West Chester Township, Ohio. Armed with a family recipe passed down through three generations and a wood-fired oven he hauled across two states, Dewey set out to prove that truly great pizza doesn't need gimmicks — just quality, care, and a little soul.
Word spread fast. Neighbors became regulars, regulars became family, and Dewey's pizza quickly outgrew its humble roots. Today, deweys pizza serves thousands of happy customers across the United States, staying true to the same handcrafted values that started it all — every dough hand-stretched, every sauce made fresh, every pie baked with intention.
What We Stand For
The Values Behind Dewey's
At deweys, every decision — from sourcing ingredients to training our team — is guided by a set of core beliefs that keep us honest and hungry for excellence.
Fresh Ingredients
We source locally whenever possible and never compromise on quality. Every vegetable, cheese, and protein earns its place on a Dewey's pie.
Handcrafted Always
From the dough to the finishing drizzle, every step is done by hand. No shortcuts. No frozen shortcuts. Just skilled people making real food.
Community First
Dewey's is rooted in West Chester Township. We give back through local sponsorships, school programs, and food-bank partnerships every month.
Transparency
We list every ingredient, publish our nutrition info, and are always honest with our customers. You deserve to know exactly what you're eating.
